Procedures applicable to casualties

Under circumstances of any traffic event (collision or accident), the drivers are obligated to immediately notify the police for the purpose of establishing the individual responsible for the casualty and subsequently notifying Business Lease for the purpose of establishing location and procedure for settling the claim. Business Lease should be notified of every casualty within 24 hours after its occurrence or discovery.

Under circumstances when the technical condition of your vehicle, despite the event, allows for further, safe continuance of the trip, you should promptly notify the Technical-Operational Department of Business Lease. Notice of the casualty should be confirmed by filling out the appropriate form in writing and sending its copy via fax, and subsequently by a registered letter to Business Lease. Under circumstances when you have any fears about the safety of driving the vehicle and do not want to risk driving a damaged vehicle, immediately contact a technical specialist from Business Lease or Business Lease „assistance” or the nearest Authorized Service Station. 

 

Under circumstances when your vehicle has been seriously damaged and further safe driving is not possible – contact the Technical-Operational Department of Business Lease or Business Lease „assistance” and use their help. Business Lease will secure your vehicle and organize its transportation to the nearest repair station, selected by Business Lease, and provide you with a replacement vehicle, if the necessity arises. 

 

Notice should be provided of each casualty to Business Lease on the appropriate form, together with a statement from the responsible individual. Business Lease must receive notice of the casualty not later than one day after the event. 

In order to facilitate the claim settlement procedure, we are requesting that the attached forms (notice of the casualty and statement by the responsible individual) be filled out completely and legibly, also providing the name, address and telephone number of the notified police unit (under circumstances when it was summoned). 

Under circumstances when the police retain the vehicle registration document, in the course of establishing the individual responsible for the accident and inspecting the technical condition of the vehicle, provide notice of this fact to Business Lease Poland. Subsequently, send a copy via fax (0 22 577 41 01) of the receipt from the police for the vehicle registration document. Remember, for every casualty caused by another individual, write down his personal data carefully, and including the license plate number of the vehicle and his insurance policy number (utilize the Statement of the Responsible Individual form). 

The insurer may reject the claim under circumstances when some of the data pertaining to the event is missing. Accordingly, we are requesting that particular attention be paid to the accuracy and completeness of data and whether the information on the individual responsible for the event is full and the Statement of the Responsible Individual form signed. 

At the same time, please be advised that if the form is sent in late, we will not be able to settle the claim and obtain compensation for costs incurred. Under such circumstances, your employer will be charged for all costs incurred in connection with the casualty. 

 

Business Lease cooperates with a wide network of vehicle window exchange locations, located throughout Poland. Please inform Business Lease of any damage to the vehicle windows. In order to remedy the defect or exchange the window, Business Lease will direct you to an appropriate repair location. Under circumstances when the front windshield is exchanged, Business Lease will send a registration sticker, within three days after notice is provided.
